I have a copy of my g/grandfather's (Tom) birth cert so now know his parent's names which are John Blackburn and Mary Blackburn nee Rennerd. However, I can find no further info on either of them. All I have is Tom's birth date which is 1864 so assume they were married just prior to that date and would put their births around 1840. Tom was born in Killamarsh, Reg District Chesterfield,sub-district Eckington. If someone has the 1861 census, perhaps they would kindly do a look up for me, or could someone advise me where to look next. Many thanks Terry

Hi Crista Many thanks for that info. I will have to investigate further. The info I have shows Tom on the 1891 census as being married and living in Lincolnshire. All other info I have also points to this county. Your John Blackburn seems to have travelled quite a bit including Scotland, Wales, West & South Yorks. Right then, back to the sleuthing !!! Thanks once again Terry - Gibraltar

Hi Terry, I was thinking that Kilmartin might have been a transcription error for Killamarsh. Does Kilmartin have mining connections? Crista
