There seems to be a little confusion, particularly amongst new Family Tree Makers, as to the correct terminology. To clarify it: A Direct Ancestor is a Parent, Grandparent, Great Grandparent etc. A Descendant is a Child, Grandchild, Greatgrandchild etc. A Sibling is a Brother or Sister. A descendant of an Ancestor's Sibling is not your Ancestor. Hope this clarifies things a little. I am sure others will want to add other more detailed definitions. This I hope will save confusion.
