Does anyone know if there are accessable records of Quaker BMDs in Yorkshire, especially from Wensleydale? Jim

Hi Jim I looked your query up in a book but all I could find was that the Quakers, also known as the Society of Friends, was formed in 1647 and they started to keep their very own records from the 1650's. They were exempt from Hardwicke's Marriage Act of 1753 and allowed to marry according to their faith. The original records are held in the Public Record Office and copies are also held in the library at Friends' House in London. Sorry that is all I could find so probably not much use but will do some more digging! Helen, Maidenhead
