Thanks to everyone for looking up laura and eliza for me. Re: Eliza...gosh! I've seen quite a few variations on spellings of the name Lelliott but Lellicote is one I hadn't found before. Re: Laura...the GRO index has her birth registered under Thakeham in Sussex. The 1901 census shows her as being born in Sussex Greatham Pulborough. It sounds like you have found her...thanks Gary. In regard to Laura Lavinia Field/Dawson, I have found the following: Laura Field aged 2 born Brighton, Sussex with her mother Elizabeth Field aged 32 (poss) in in Institution in Hastings, Sussex in 1891. Is this her? Otherwise can you give a clue as to where she was born? Regards Gary

Eliza listed as Eliza Lellicote working as a cook for a solicitor Terence Whitaker at 167 Victoria Street, Westminster, London. Her age is 30 and she was born in Ferring Sussex, so this must be the one. Regards Gary

Thanks April. Sorry, this may seem really cheeky to keep asking you to look things up for me. I'm still very new to this and don't know where to locate the 1891 census. Are there any Eliza Licence's at that time? Also, I have been trying to find my Gr.Grandmother Laura Lavinia Dawson (have just found her on the 1901 as Laura L D Field) any chance you could check for her on your 1891 census for me as well. She would have been 1/2yrs old. She was illegitimate, so could be listed as Dawson or Field. I promise I won't ask again. Thanks Ali.
