Hi Thanks for the link, I've had a look but the magazines available are a later period 1874-1878 and what they have on the site is too early 1795-1825. So no use at the moment. George

Found this site which might be of help to you. http://www(.)mary(.)mason(.)btinternet(.)co(.)uk/page4(.)html You can also purchase the Portishead magazine whhich lists baptisms for £7.50 You might want to e-mail Mary Mason and see if she help you, might be quicker than waiting for me to get there! marion

Hi Thats useful because their sister Elizabeth was born & baptised in 1863 in Bristol but I don't know whereabouts. George

I don't think there are many on this site that live near records office for Somerset. I posted a look-up a while back for Chard and didn't get any response. The records you want may be at Bristol so will keep this in mind when I go to the records office soon. Marion

George, You probably already have the information from 1881 census for the family? My daughter lives in Portishead, if I'm down there in the near future I will keep it in mind and check at the local library for you. They may even have the 1861 census. The family were in Cardiff by 1869, so perhaps someone there could look up 1871 for you. Marion

Is there anyone going in the near future who could lookup the baptism of Sophia Dawes b 1865 Portishead and Henry Dawes b 1866 Portishead. Parents were Catherine & Robert Dawes. Thank you George
