I have just read on a mailing list that the LDS Church will provide a photo-copy of the original record (Parish Register or Bishops Transcripts) at a cost of US $2 (hopefully the local FHC could advise you on Sterling charge). You need a 'Request for photo-copies Form' from the local LDS Family History Centre which you fill in with the IGI Batch number and film number as they appear on the IGI record. You can charge the amount to your credit card by writing the details at the bottom of the form and it takes approximately six weeks for a reply. The mailer on the list said she sends for several at a time and has often, but not always, got more details than those given on the Familysearch site. It may be of some help for dates pre 1837, before civil registration. Having only just seen it, I haven't tried it out yet and would suggest you contact your local LDS Centre to verify it. No one has mentioned it to me when visiting my local FHC but I will make enquiries at my next visit. I have the address for Salt Lake City and will put it on the board if anyone is interested. Yvonne
