access to 1891 census

All these messages "can you look up 1891 census".Pease explain how you access 1891 census, OnLine or can you get CDs?? You guessed, I'm new at it !!Any help.?

I don't know either. Was just discussing the same. Do you have to pay for a look up on 1891. If not where is it hiding?

Hiya! The 1891 Census is available online on ancestry.co.uk but a subscription costs quite a lot I believe. But usually you can get 14 day free trials, so you are best waitin until you have quite a few lookups to do and then sign up for a trial. Be careful though because if you dont cancel youre trial a few days before the end, they will take a subscription charge from your credit card. Hope this makes sense! Sally, Coventry

Access to the 1891 census at ancestry costs £70, which seems a bit steep if there are only a few things you want to look up. Unlike the 1901 census, they do not offer any kind of 'pay per view' option. Rob
