Birth registered twice??

The FreeBMD transcribers work from the same photographs that you're viewing at 1837online, there's no other source for the references If you're saying that the year, quarter, volume amd page number are the same and only the district is different, that's got to be a transcription error in FreeBMD. In the FreeBMD record, if you click on the page number, are there other records for that page, and what districts are they? If you click on the district, it will tell you what volume that district is in. Does it match the actual volume? (Of course it could match by coincidence)

Is it possible for a birth to be registered in two districts?? I have found on 1837 online my fathers ref nos. but on checking FreeBMD he is registered in two different districts. Any advice would be appreciated as I was applying for a certificate and I am not sure where to apply now. Thanks. Leah
