I have received a reply from Blackley Cemetery. Grave no. is E1153 in C of E Section, entrance thru' Briscoe Lane/Alan Turing Way entrance. Apparently no headstone, but have been notified of a child buried in same grave; so my grandfather had a baby brother I knew nothing about. Hi Catherine Thanks for that info., I had no idea the cemetery was so vast. All I know is that it would not have been in the Catholic section. As I live in Scotland I am unable to go to the Library in Mcr. I will have to come up with a Plan B. Hazel |

Hi Hazel Phillips Park cemetry is a huge cemetry. Dates back hundreds of years with so many graves in it .(My family are buried there) Unless you have a grave number it would be impossible to find by just visiting and looking round. Manchester central library have details of all the graves listed on microfishe.If you have names, dates etc you could possibly find it. There was always a side of the park reserved for Catholics and non-catholics.I notesd the date of 1891, there is a section of older graves all together. Graves from that period were often very large and gothic looking. Hope this helps Catherine |

Is there anybody out there able to have a hunt in the above cemetery for me? I am interested in the grave of William Robert Eaton who died in December 1891. I would like to know what is on the headstone, please. Hazel |
