Try www.durham.gov.uk it has BMD's & the Option to purchase certificates £7 eash + p&p

I think I am right in saying that St Catherine's house was where all of the General Register Office register records used to be kept ( before that Somerset House). It is the same records on FreeBMD and 1837 online, or on the GRO indexes at your library or county record office. Margaret

Is st Catherine's online and can anyone tell me how I can look up Durham area online (not the census) I would like to research prior to 1880
