Would some kind person check the 1891 census for two grandchildren Hubert Frederick Colwell, born c1879, and Osborn William Colwell born c1881, living with grandparents William and Harriett Colwell in Westbury/S district, Glos. at the 1881 census, with no sign at 1901 census. They may not have survived, but I can't so far find any deaths on Free BND. Perhaps I'm not consulting 1901 census properly.

Dorothy, I did a search on the 1901 census and like George saw a Hubert Cornwall. I also saw that Harriett is listed with a 12 year old Alice Colwell. I don't know if you had that name because you haven't entered that name on GC. You might want to pay to see the whole household as there is someone else living there too. I can tell this because the PersonIDs are not sequential in the Census decoder. FreeBMD says Julia died in 1896 and William died in 1900. Crista

Thanks for the effort made everyone. I don't think the Cornwalls are any relation. William and Harriett, grandparents were living alone with unmarried daughter Julia who died in 1896 in 1891. Son Albert (my grandfather) had his own family by 1901. I was hopeful Albert had taken the children. They seem to be the product of a son of William and Harriett who has no left no visible record. Have spent forever trying to find him. Could anyone check Albert and Mary Ann in 1891 (3 or 4 children by then) just in case. Their own children were Wlm.Albert, Mary Jane, Osman, and possibly Lewis, living in Westbury/S. Thanks for your help.

Should have mentioned that the Harriett Colwell with grandchildren in 1901 is a different family. Spent many happy hours chasing that one.
