Just been poking around the LDS site and am a bit confused about all those lists of names. Has snyone found the time spent trawling through them useful? I have learnt the hard way not to assume anything without at least a couple of cross references to confirm a fact. I was searching for Whittington in Gloucestershire, and the numbers of families involved in the 19th century is difficult to sort. Where did they get these names from? Their geography is a bit suspect. Stopped me short to find my uncle who died in WW1 listed, didn't even get his place right. Did they copy from the CWGC site? Anyone found these records useful? |

I have found LDS site good but most info has been inputted by volunteers and is full of errors. You should double check all the info you find using other sources. George |

It can be very useful but the search criteria are a bit wierd, so be prepared to trawl through a thousand or more entries to get a match. It also seems to bring up the same people more than once in the search results! |
