I think you will have a problem here unfortunately. I have the 2001 electoral roll on disk and it gives 10 Eric's in Manchester and 322 in the UK. Major problem name especially in Wales. Sorry but good luck. George Note: Did you mention he had a partner? You may be able to trace him from any children they may have had. A birth certificate will give an address. Sorry if i'm stating the obvious

Unless its changed recently electoral rolls are sorted in street name, so if you don't know the address you could be there for years!

Hi Tina I still think it may be worth checking the electoral roll via the library, as 192dotcom doesn't have all areas - I found out (from this site!)that not all councils have sold the data to 192. It is also possible that he is anywhere in the country now- so although it might be very labourious and time consuming it may be the only way. Another option may be to go to the last known address in Cardiff yourself, and ask around the neighbours- a bit "in your face! but it may be an option if your need is great enough. Regards Maxine

Tina I have just done a search on 192.com for Eric Williams, Crawshay Street Cardiff - Nothing. Also tried without the street name - still nothing. Sorry I couldn't help on this occasion but if anyone needs a lookup on 192.com we have a subscription at work. Lynne Sale CHS

Hi Tina I understand what you mean now. Is this person still alive?(do you think)- if so it is possible to try a trace through the Salvation Army, however I believe that is quite costly. It may be worth enquiring to see.(I think its about £130). I know a friend of mine is considering this for the same reason. There is also the electoral roll, which you can ususally get through the library, and also via 192.com(you have to pay though), but I know a nice gentleman on here has offered to check his copy for people on occasion, (I'm sorry I can't remember who it was- too many helpful gentlemen on here!!!) If you check back through these messages you will see it and I'm sure he won't mind you asking. Regards Maxine
