I have just received a copy of my fathers birth cert and have found a family trait.... Receipt of a copy of my mum and dads' marriage cert last week showed me to be nine years old when they married but when dad's b.cert arrived this morning it shows that the G'Parents weren't too keen on getting hitched either. I now have a grandfather occupation Porter (Poor Law) ???? and a Grand mother born Ash then was Boyton when My dad was born. No wonder no one ever spoke about dads' family!! I need help in finding a William Charles Whybrew living with Harriet Boyton in 1901, who possibly had a son called Arthur James b+/-1898 ( died jan 1917 aged 18) I can't find them my self.

Roger, Are your sure that Harriet and William were together in 1901? Looking at Whybrews on this site it appears your dad was born in 1909. This was on FreeBMD: Marriages Dec 1897 Ash Harriett Lambeth 1d 826 Boyton James Arthur Lambeth 1d 826 and then this Birth in Lambeth in Dec 1898: Boyton James Arthur A H Lambeth 1d 442 Using this info. I found Harriett, James and James on the 1901 census all living together under the name Bayton. Forename(s) Lastname Age Where Born Census Place Census County Occupation Piece James BAYTON 25 London Islington Lambeth London Tin Inkstand Maker Harriett BAYTON 25 London Borough Lambeth London James BAYTON 2 London Camberwell Lambeth London Crista
