Can anyone confirm that there is both a HEMSLEY and a HELMSLEY in Yorkshire. Also, are either of them near to a place named IDLE. Many thanks - Terry

This may be an obvious if not a useless suggestion; but perhaps streetmap(.)co(.)uk may help. Robert

Terry No sign of Hemsley but Helmsley lies midway between Pickering and Thirsk in North Yorkshire. It is a very pretty village, great pub! Idle is near Shipley, Bradford, South Yorkshire. So I think it is no and no, unless someone else knows better. Gary

Many thanks for the replies. I think it must be a case of spelling errors. Terry - Gibraltar p.s. Gary, I haven't bought a UK atlas yet. :-)

Many thanks for all the feedback. I'm going to go with Helmsley. It looks the favourite. Terry
