Can anybody please look up any skeer or skeers from the chorlton/manchester and warwick area. The name is quite uncommon but can I find it. I beleive my grandfather was born in chorlton in the 1880's nothing seems to match him on free bmd although i have a marriage certificate which states he was called thomas william kenneth skeer and was married in chorlton in 1918 aged 30 and his father was a wood carver. In the directory in 1929 he was living in gorton manchester he was a music teacher and came under the name kenneth scott skeer. He was also a theatre manager in accrington in the early 1920's. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Roseanne

Have you tried going to familysearch.org and typing in just the surname and country. This will bring up all the people with that surname and similar spellings and you may be able to track him down that way. Alison

Thank you Alison, I have tried but he was not yet born. I have found a William Skeer who possibly was his uncle but no father Thomas. This is where I found the link with warwick. Thanks again Roseanne
