I know there's access to the 1901 census for Ireland and I believe they've released the 1911 early, due to other census/data being destroyed by fire. But can someone tell me in plain english where I can see these two? Could they also tell me if I have to pay? Many Thanks Shelli

Hi Shelli/William If you get any info re 1901 1911 please post it here, as I am getting nowhere with Eire. By the way, 8/9 weeks ago I faxed Joyce House in Dublin for a birth cert and was told that it usually takes about 4/5 weeks due to the heavy demand for certs. Should it take this long though ? or maybe their just extra busy. Terry

Terry, If they said 4/5 wks then 8/9 is a bit long p'haps you could fax them again. I've personally only dealt with belfast not dublin, my rellies are northern Irish. Yes, I know thats a morden division, If I find anything out will contact you Good luck Shelli

I am also having trouble researching my Northern Ireland relatives.I know mine were in Ulster for the 1901 and 1911 Census before coming to Glasgow and have searched for online versions of these. For anyone living in Melbourne, Australia I have heard that the LDS Family HIstory Centre in Wantirna specialises in Irish Records but can't find the address to go there!

The answer to your question would help me, too, Shelli. Many hours wasted going in ever decreasing circles trying to find out about the tales my (late) dad told of life in Co. Monaghan, before & after partition- he was born in 1906.Glad it's not just me pressing all the wrong keys again! Mary P

I've just done a Google search for 1911 Census and several sites came up where people have transcribed certain areas in Ireland and the results are available online. It's a long-shot, but may be one of them is for the area where you are searching. Sue

Hi Shelli, The census' are available, if you click on the census finder link on the links page then click on Ireland it will give you a list of all areas that have census' available and what years. If you still have no luck let me have the details and I will look on Irish family research as I'm a member of it. Laurie
