Now then John The old county's glorious! Thanks for telling us about the Family History Fair. I'm sure the kids will enjoy a day out at Scarborough - if I don't tell them why we're going! Just had a look on the old maps site and I got a hit first time with an address. Fab! Jeanette

Eyup lass, how's the old county. I am exiled down in Wilts at the moment but hopefully coming up on the 14th Sept. Going to the Family History Fair in Scarborough (15th Recommend to all) Then on Monday off to Bradford to continue the search for Riley Ferguson. I am glad you all like the site, isn't it fantastic and all the wizzy things it does. 1 thing you may like to try is putting in addresses of rellies that have now been demolished ( buildings that is not relllies) Sometimes it gives you an idea where they were. Has worked 2 out of 4 for me. John

Can I recommend this site to you all. It was posted by some kind soul in the last 24 hrs so I cannot take credit for it. www(.)old-maps(.)co(.)uk There are aerial photos etc. Brilliant once you know how to navigate round it. After 3 hrs I am now tearing myself away to go to the library to look at NBI and GRO indexes. Being a Yorkshireman I am too tight to pay 1837. lol John
