I'm no doctor, but think dropsy is a sympton of heart failure...fluid acumulates in the tissues because the heart fails to pump strongly enough to circulate the blood properly. Dierdre X

Sue If a man married twice and had children by both the wives then those children are named with their correct mothers name. Likewise for a woman marrying twice. Hope that is clear for you. Vera Manchester

Don't understand the first part of your question, but I went to a search engine and typed in Dropsy and found this: "Edema (also spelled oedema, formerly known as dropsy) is swelling due to accumulation of excess fluid in any biological tissue." I think it particularly affected the legs, which looked very swollen and shapeless. This is the site: http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dropsy Jan

Can you please tell me why in your name boxes on some of them it says parent to.(only the odd ones) Also what would you of died of if it says "dropsy" on the death certificate Sue..
