I found him!! He was listed as Chas. Edlin 34 Bn Croxton Melton, Leics, Engine Fitter Mary 33 Leicester John 11 Kettering Ernest 9 Leicester William 7 Derby Beatrice 5 Derby Gertrude 1mth Leicester living at 3 Carlisle Street, Leicester. Jan.

CHARLES EDWARD EDLIN Christened 18 October 1857 at Croxton Keyrial, Leicester, Father John Edling, Mother Martha. In 1881 living at 28 Ash Street, St. Margarets Leicester.. Charles Edward Edlin 23 Shoe Machinery Fitter Mary Edlin 21, Bn St. Margarets, Leicester, Tailoress John Edward Edlin 1 Bn Kettering Samuel Earnest 3w, Bn. St. Margarets PRO Ref: R111 Piece/Folio 3163/9Page No. 12 Can't find trace of them in 1891, but the indexing isn't complete yet. Hope this helps, Jan.

Hi Amanda, I've found a charles edward edlin on the 1881 cesus; age 23- birthplace-Croxton Kerrial,Leister- shoe machinery fitter Wife;Mary elizabeth Edlin-age 21-birthplace- St Margarets, leister- tailoress Son; John Edward Edlin-age 1yr- Birthplace-Kettering,Northhampton Son;Samuel earnest Edlin- age 3 weeks- birthplace-St Margarets, Leister. trying to find out date of birth or age of charles edward edlin who would have been living in kettering, northampton in 1891, he was a machine fitter.
