Thanks to Rosemary Groves, Jeanette Greenley and Max Mackay who all tried to find James Edward Cook, unfortunatly without success. He was a Trawler Skipper and I am begining to think the only time they got put on a census was if they happened to be between trips. Which puts it at long odds when the were away for 6 - 12 weeks and home for 5 days! Thanks again for trying. Paul

Paul, Do you have any more info. as to who his parents/brother and sisters were? There are several James Cooks on the 1901 census that could match. Would he have been a skipper at 18? That seems a bit young. Crista

Hi Paul, What other details do you have? Do you know where he came from etc? Laurie
