I'm trying to find out info on the NS. Are there any sites where you can read people's recollections etc and service records? My dad served in the mid 1950s and I've got a photo of him to prove it! Has anyone reading this got any good memories they might like to share here?! I did look on Google but it wasn't very helpful. John :-) Alnwick

Have a look at http://www(.)iwm(.)org(.)uk/collections/books/bookfaq24(.)htm It gives a list of books at the end including something that sounds like what you are looking for - The best years of their lives: the National Service experience.
