Good luck with your search. I'm at a brickwall with one of my branches because the man is called john. Too many leads. Just have to go down every route and hope for a link. |

Judith, Only the stepdaughter and children from this marriage.What made me think he might have married twice is that all the children were born Longton Stafford and on the 1881 census one of my g.grandfathers (John's son)children was born Longton Stafford. Just a thought, might be completely wrong though. Just had another look on the birth certificate. It states father John as an engineer but the other John is a coal miner. Doesn't seem likely they are the same person does it. Will just have to keep looking May |

I'd be a bit cautious as john is a very common name. Do you know who his children were as they may be on the census as living with him. |

I found a John Worthington on the 1881 census married to a Louisa with a stepdaughter Mary Roberts. My John Worthington had a wife Ann Jones. Do you think he married twice? May |
