Member Since: April 2003 Posts: 362 Send Message	Hi Derek It is possible that the number on the base of the cross is his service number. pvt co g more than likely is his rank, Private and his infantry company which is company G. 358 INP might be INR which would be the 358th Infantry Reginmentand would have been the unit he served in. There was a 358th Infantry Regiment which served during ww1. Check it out on yahoo or similar. Terry

Member Since: January 2003 Posts: 614 Send Message	Good morning Crista, I have received some info regarding a possible rellie.Frank Bannock, a WW1 casualty, buried in France. The info that accompanied this news was in the form of an imaginary cross. on the head of said cross was inscibed '179', on the base was 'D17217', and across the arms was inscribed 'PVT CO G 358 INP', thats it. So I ask, do you have an American Serviceman's site like our 'cwgc' site for viewing? Thanks for all your help in the past. Cheers, Derek
