Hi Again Kate. I see in the " Leicester Mercury" they are doing a suplement Called " Come on you Tigers " Tribute to the Royal Leicestershire TIgers Reg. (50p) Perhaps your Sister can get a copy for you and sent it to you. MIKE.

Hello Kathleen, Go to links on this page, then click on public records office. click on start your search, go to leaflets in red. click on P then prisoners of war 1760 -1919 will come up with maybe some info to help you. You can find out his Rank, Number and Regiment from War Office Service Medal and Award Rolls. First World War c1914-1922 details in WO372 from the PRO but, I am afraid to get this info you have to visit Kew. Shirley

My Father was in the British Army and in the course of WW11 became a POW..This subject was never discussed in our home and sadly I now realise I do not even know what his regiment he was in to begin expanding on my research..Please could someone give me ideas where to look first.. Thankyou Kate
