Full age is over 21. A minor could be between 12 and 21 (female) but usually not at the lower end! Maz. XX

I have my g-g-grandfathers' marriage certificate from 1856. On it in the age section it says for him 'of full age', but for my g-g-grandmothers age it says 'minor'. Can anyone explain why their ages weren't entered, how old would my g.g.grandfather have had to have been to have been 'of full age' and how old would my g.g.grandmother have been to be a 'minor'?
