Marion Yes I forgot that I had checked on the 1841 census and her father on there is thomas like on the wedding certificate, and the mother was Anna, but the parishe records said Daughter of william and Mary, so perhaps I am looking in the wrong place or something. I just dont know. anyway thank you. Debbie

Have you found her on 1841 Census - as it was prior to her marriage, maybe she was still living at home with parents. It could be that William was her father, then he died and mum married his brother or cousin Thomas - long shot, but you never know! Maz. XX

I had this problem some time ago, will never actually know the truth. My grandmothers birth cert says her father was Joseph Moralee, but her marriage cert states Thomas Henry Moralee (deceased) as her father, but in fact, Thomas was her brother (or was he??????) but there was 19 years difference between them, so who knows??? Hi, I'm having a similar dilemma - several options from the 1901 census on who I'm looking for - could be one of three - I cannot see the point in obtaining certificates which will only tell me what I already know. I'm taking the long route to Canada to find out if long lost rels there can help throw any light on the subject, otherwise I'm at the brick wall also. I cannot see the point of claiming someone unless you are certain it's the right person - can you? Any opinions/advice from anyone else would be gratefully accepted. Sorry not much help to you but at least you know you are not alone. Jacqui

Hello I was wondering if anyone can help me please. My great great grandmother matilda on recieving her Marriage certificate it says she was 22 in 1851 so have worked out she was born about 1829, I checked the Family search and ther is 1 Matilda Whitlock born 1829 in the same area but the father is William, on the marriage cert it says the father is Thomas. So off I went to the Library and found the Parish Records and again I found her born 1829 with father William could not find another Matilda what do I do? Do you think the father is Thomas and the one with William is a different 1 I am really not sure what to do next. Can anyone put me in the right direction Please. Thank you Debbie
