Tracy, I've reached that stage with my paternal grandmother's grandparents, which is why I'm keeping my hand in by doing lookups for other people. I'm learning how to use the 1891 a lot better, but unfortunately that doesn't help me in my own searches at the moment. Good luck, hope you manage to find what you were looking for, Jan.

Thanks for trying girls. It just gets a bit frustrating when all you seem to do is go round and round in circles. Never mind, i'll soldier on.!! Cheers. Tracey

I've had another look based on Wood in Ardwick, and again only came up with a James and Elizabeth, aged 50 and 48, both born in Yorkshire. Sorry. Jan.

Thanks Jan, I don't think they are who i'm looking for. I know my John and Elizabeth were in Ardwick, Lancs on the 1881 census. I would have liked to have known if there were any children as there wasn't any in 1881. Thanks for looking anyway! Tracey

I was frozen out this afternoon and couldn't get back to you. All I have found is one John Wood born Stockport married to a Mary, and an Elisabeth Wood born Altingham married to a George. If you want details of either of these I can let you have them, just couldn't find the two together. I tried their ages plus and minus one year, but still no results. Jan.

Could anyone with access to 1891 please look up Elizabeth and John Wood? She was born in Congleton, Cheshire about 1844 and he was born in Stockport, Cheshire about 1841. They were last known to be in the Lancashire area. Thanks! Tracey, Bolton
