I have the 1841 kent census and i ordered the 1861 census a while ago, however iam still waiting for it. I can check the 1841 census for you but i would need to know what area of Kent your relative lived in. I also have the British Isles Vital Records Index 2nd ed. Which has a partial collection of Births ,Christening, Marriage records 1530-1906. let me know if that would be some help to you. sarah

Sarah Could you look up John Rayner b about 1805 in Teynham (nr Sittingbourne)? He'd possibly moved up the road to Lynsted by that time. I'd be ever so grateful cos I've been at a dead end with him for ages. Thanks, Sue

Hi For those people who asked me to do a search . Ive not had much time today or will i have for the next couple of days. As you know it takes a bit of time to check threw a census. I also have the 1891 census and believe me its easier to check the 1841 than the 1891, age does not mean a thing. However ive had time to check the Vital Records Index. To Judith Iam sorry to say i could not find any John BUTLER or Rachel ROFE, born around the time you have stated. Or any children for them. To Susan I could only find 1 John RAYNER for around the date you gave me. He was christened 16 March at Bromley. However it does not mean he was born at Bromley . His parents were Samuel RAYNER and Alice UNKNOWN. Sorry i could not be of more help to you.. Oh by the way do you come from Sittingbourne? To Shelli I can not find a Amos John Daymen listed. I found 2 with their surnames spelt Amos DIMENT chr dorset 1867 and Amos DIMOND chr Dorset 1868. Also there was no Emily born for the time or the place you stated. Sorry. I will check census in time. To Gary Iam half way threw checking the Sevenoaks 1841 census. I placed an advanced order on the 1861 census. The more orders that people make the cheaper you will get it for. To have a look at this census and others http://www.rod-neep(.)co(.)uk/books/census/index(.)htm You can also go to uk census online, which gives census details for free. However there is not that much for Kent http://homepages(.)paradise(.)net(.)nz/barbgreg/ukcensus(.)html To buy the Kent 1891 census at the moment is about £49.95.At www(.)britishdataarchive(.)com If you place an advanced order you will aways get things cheaper. Sorry i could not help you more. I promise i will search the census soon. Sarah

Hi To you all again , Iam slowly going threw the 1841 census. As promised i will in the end get back to you all. Anyway, this is fo Susan I looked in Teynham . I found a William RANER age 15 ag lab. I then checked Lynsted, most of it was just to hard to read. However i found :- John RAINER age 35 occ M S or U S John RAINER age 11 Stanley RAINER age 9 Joseph RAINER age 7 This family were living at Lynsted Lodge . All were born in Kent. As you may know they did not give much detail with the 1841 census. I went to Westland high and i left 1989/1990.

Hi Ive just thought there are a few good sites that may help you to research your family in Kent as i often use them as most of my relatives all seemed to come from around the Kent area. http://www(.)kfhs(.)org(.)uk/ you can look at other peoples surnames that they are interested in . Also buy discs that may help you in your research. However if you join things are cheaper. http://www.quarrington.f9.co.uk/ksir/k2p.htm You can also check other peoples surname interests. http://www.digiserve.com/peter/fwd_to.htm Other Kent information that may help you.
