SCOTTISH CENSUS 1851/61/71

Hi Mary, As far as I am aware, they are all by county. I'm sure if you list more info you might find someone who has the county that you are looking for. I think the best place to post such information though would be on the discussion group pages on scotlandpeople(.)gov(.)uk. I did find the following information from the discussion groups where there are some great very helpful members just like GC - The LDS have all films for all censuses from 1841 to 1891 in Scotland. Images of the 1841 to 1871 (plus 1881) will be on-line on ScotlandsPeople by next Spring. The only on-line indexes apart from ScotlandsPeople that I am aware of are the Dumfriesshire, Kirkcudbrightshire, and Wigtonshire 1851 censuses at http://www(.)dumgal(.)gov(.)uk/services/depts/comres/library/census_search(.)asp Many family history societies have indexed their local 1851 records. The position changes very fast these days so best to check on the SAFHS site at http://www(.)safhs(.)org(.)uk/ to check for details of the FHS in the area of interest and contact them to find out the position on the censuses of interest, - many FHSs are now moving on to other censuses after completing their 1851 project. Hope this helps. Regards Margaret
