Thanks Rosemary, a few people have looked on 1891 for me but can't find him. His name is William Springford b. 1845 so he should be around 46 yrs old. Everything I've had about him states him as being a Groom. Hes not on the 1891 or 1901 Census in Swindon with his family, so I was hoping hes at work and not off frolicking with some untraceable woman!! Thanks for your help. Sarah

Does anyone know anything about the Berkshire area. I am trying to find the whereabouts of my GGG G'father. My Grandad says he worked at Lambourn Stables most of his life, (he was a Groom). I've always thought it had an 'e' on the end, but looking at the Old Maps site, found a Lambourn in Hungerford. His family were living in Swindon in 1881 but they had connections with Berks before that and I'm hoping he was maybe there after 1881 as I can't find any trace of him. Any info on this place if anyone knows anything I would be grateful!!! Thanx!!!!
