Help with research in South Africa please!

Hi Tracey, From what I hear, it's not the easiest country to do research on. I don't think that there are any on-line records like 1837. There are many useful links on geneology(.)co(.)za. Good luck. Regards Margaret

I know that my Nan was born in South Africa to British citizens, I have her date of birth (courtesy of 1837online where I have found her death registered-awesome site by the way!) but I have no clue of where to go next for her birth certificate. I am begging the experts on this site to give me some pointers on researching births in South Africa please. If anyone out there already has the resources and can do a lookup her name was Eleanor Margaret Horne and she was born on March 27, 1911. All help is welcomed and gratefully accepted.
