You need to apply to the office where the birth was registered - not sure if it is still Clerkenwell. The easiest way I find is via the 1837 site, quoting the name and reference I gave you. Richard

Would i be able to purchase a birth certificate from my local town or would it have to be from london ??

If you are sure she was born in December, then be wary of info from IGI, with births and christenings in Oct and Nov. Obtaining her birth certificate is the safest bet. Richard

I would imagine the one on familysearch is right one. I have relatives that were born in Shoreditch and registered in Clerkenwell. Both places within spitting distance! The birth certificate will give details of parents, including mothers maiden name. Steph

I am stuck on Jessie Elizabeth Rowe b Dec 1862 in Clerkenwell (London), I know that she married Charles Henry Baker in 1883. What i need to find out is her parents name and a possible address.
