This has also been my experience - the Local Register Offices that I have dealt with have been similarly efficient!

Local register offices are much better than the GRO, also they will do a five year search within the cost of the cert, and if they don't find anything you get all your money back. Marriage certs can sometimes be a problem if you don't know the venue, as not all offices are computerised. Ros

What do certificates cost at the local offices

I have also had very efficient service from local register offices and the ones I have sent for cost the same as the GRO.

Is there a website where all the Local Offices are listed? Together with addresses? It would be really handy to know. Thanks Rachel
