Hi, I am new to genealogy and realise that I will have to subscribe to a site to get info. Which would be the best. I find even the "free" sites need you to subscribe. Or am I looking in the wrong places. Thanks Anne-Marie

You do need to register on most if not all sites. This doesn't cost you anything. You could try some of the sites on links (go to resource centre) then bottom right. Freebmd, Family search. Try them. If you find one that charges you can always cancel. Sally

Anne-Marie, www(.)freebmd(.)rootsweb(.)com - remove the brackets! - is good for the birth, marriage and death certificates, and it's free, I can't remember having to register when I first used it, but I could be wrong!! Another site I use regularly is www(.)genuki(.)org(.)uk - same thing with the brackets!!!! Happy hunting. Nicki

Just a slight correction to Nicki's message. The website address for FreeBMD is : freebmd(.)rootsweb(.)com Adding www results in a "can't find" error. No, you don't have to register for FreeBMD Andy.
