Can anyone help me. I am trying to trace family. Ellen Walton 1838 Father John Mother Mary nee Makepeace. Mary and John married 22/01/1825 Haydon Bridge Northumberland. Thanks for any help. MARY

Sorry to disagree, but Allerdale is a modern local authority in West Cumbria. Allendale is the valley of the River Allen, which flows into the Tyne between Bardon Mill and Haydon Bridge. The Allen is fed by the West Allen and East Allen Rivers. There are two Parishes, Allendale and West Allen, which you could search for information, as well as Bardon Mill, Haydon Bridge and Hexham, the nearest town. Stan
