Hi I am looking for Frederick Edridge and family, he was born 1878 in Shoreditch and was in the same area with his family in 1881 and in 1901 was on his own. He was a glass bottle maker. Please can anyone look in the 1891 for me to see where he was then and with what family members. Thanks in advance Tricia |

Hi Patricia, Nothing for Edgridge, but there is this for Edredge RG12/198, Folio 129, page 33 Hackney London 89 Chatsworth? Road Tenny Edredge, head, wid, 50, Living on own means, London Rodger Edredge, son, sing, 25, Glass blower, London Albert Edredge, son, sing, 17, packer, London Fredk Edredge, son, 13, scholar, London It looks like this is a multi occupant house - there are another two families at the address. Let me know if you want their details their surnames are Charles and Cowe? Emma. |

Glad you did - the 1891 froze my computer so it took an age to get back to it. I agree with you about Chatsworth Road, but wonder if Tenny is really Fanny. Jan |

Henry M Edridge, Nephew, 19, Grocers Assistant, born Leytonstone Frederick S Edridge, Nephew, 15, Mechanical Eng, born Leytonstone Eliza Anderson, ?, 15, Domestic Asst, born ? Sorry, was pretty difficult to read. |

Hi Emma Thanks very much. Now I know that the father died between the 1881 and the 1891 census. I am still somewhat confused because Frederick's father is shown by the name of George on Frederick's marriage cert and that he is deceased. Possibly a nickname? There do not seem to be very many Frederick Edridges that are glass bottle makers so I assume it is the correct one. Thanks also to Jan for offer. Tricia |
