Hi Jaqueline and Crista Thanks for your replies - unfortunately theres no more info ! I did get a birth certificate for my dad (Alan Bailey) her son but other than listing her as nee Bowen thats it. My elder brother says he remembers seeing a photo of our grandparents in wedding outfits but again - thats it - as I say I can't find anything. My dad was born and registered in Leicester but also maintained he was born in Birmingham and said that his dad (George Thomas Bailey) was born in Dundee - again - who knows? I can't find any trace and theres nobody left to ask. As my grandparents were separated/?divorced when I was very young, my brother and I have no idea of when my grandad died or if it was even in Leicester. Apart from looking at all the death certificates in the name of Bailey since approx 1960 I don't know what to do. Many thanks again Lin |

Have you any info on the children of the couple? Birth certs etc which might give a clue as to the lady's name at the time the children were born? Had she adopted Mr Bailey's name at the time of their birth? Jacqui |

Hi I'm trying to find some info about my Grandma - Ivy Edith Bowen - according to her death certificate she would have been born in 1903. I've been back to1898 and as far forward as 1912 but can't find her anywhere. Lots of Ivy's but that could be very expensive. Don't have any family to ask about to try and narrow it down and cannot find any trace of a marriage between her and my grandad George Thomas Bailey. Any ideas gratefully received. Many thanks Lin |
