Hugh Wallis also has a section on Middle names, you know where children have mothers maiden name as a middle name. Great for finding other family members that might otherwise be lost. Regards George

Each parish has batch numbers for records on LDS. Hugh Wallis has a site that tells you the batch numbers.

Thanks Alison. I have a couple of names that I just can't find on Family Search, and wondered if they might be found via Hugh Wallis. I'll just keep visiting FS and hope they've been added. Jan.

The Hugh Wallis site is a way of searching the IGI which is based at the Family search site so the info is the same but not all parishes are covered by the Hugh Wallis site the best idea is use family search to find parishes that your ancestors lived in then use Hugh Wallis to find other people with the same (or similar) surnames. They may be related and you may find alternative spellings, you can also find siblings this way. The IGI is updated occaisionally, not very often! so it pays to check back at intervals

If I do a Batch Number search on the Hugh Wallis site, will I only find what is included in the Family Search site, or is there the possibility of finding something new? Jan
