I am sure it is the wrong Ellen Philbrick because that would have been her married name and the one that i have found it is her maiden name.

I would suggest getting his birth cert. Either use 1837 or the GROto find the exact year and quarter. This will give the parents. Checkk then on 1901 as suggested and away you go. Any more help either mail me or ask on the board. John

You could start with the 1901 census, found one Ellen Philbrick living in West Ham, born Mddx St Georges, aged 27. From there , you can view who else was in the household, and will get husbands name. That's where I usually start! steph

My friend has decided that she wants to trace her tree the information that she has is that her Gdad was born 1908 and his name was Edwin Francis Philbrick and died jan 2002, His moms name was Ellen, unfortunatly this is all we have to go on. Can you help with any information. Unfortunatly there was a family rift several years ago so the rellies that are alive have no contact. I would like to thank you in advance as i have to pop out in a minute. Ps Edwin spent most of his life in Warwickshire and his family at some point had links to south end on sea.
