my late mothers (mabel harvey ames) father is becoming a headache! her parents were not married. i know his name was george harvey born in norwich but i do not know his d o b. and on the 1901 there is 3 that could be him. i have her marriage cert but her fathers not named, also her birth cert that i have is a small one if i sent for her birth cert would i get a more detailed one? her mothers name was blanche ames nee crowe b1877. i wished i had asked more when she was alive but it was a taboo subject! hope someone can help thanks david

I have found Blanche Eliza Crowe that married Percy Ames in 1898 is that any help ???

thanks for looking pat, but i have been able to find the crowe side of the family. its the harveys that i can't start on till i find which one is the right one! i think he was in the army out in india at some time. is there a site i could look for him there? thanks again david

What year do you think he was born around to help us look for you ??

My father in law has no father named on his birth certificate, and he has no idea who is father is/was. His mother had 3 children out of wedlock, all with no fathers named, from 1915 to 1934. Very brave in those days, I think.

mabel was born in 1921 which makes blanche 44, they had 3 children before mabel, george and violet twins and blanche, i just assume he was about the same age as blanche, other than that, no idea. hope this helps. thanks david
