Hi...forgot to say that on the marriage document you can print, it gives Date & Place of marriage, Signature and profession of each partner, Usual Residence, Name and Profession of Mother and Father and witnesses. Andy

I use www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk and its brilliant. Found names i couldn't find before. Only problem is that once you find a name you want it costs £6 for 30 credits. It is still very cheap if you find what you want. Andy

Can any one tell me any website sto look up people born in Scotland.I think im looking for a needle in a haystack but here goes:I have a Ann(ie) Miller b Scotland married to a William Tinnion,She already had 2 sons when they married (they are listed as his stepsons on 1881)and their surname is Miller.I dont know if this was her maiden name and she wasnt married when she had the two boys or if she had been married and divorced? Was divorce likely in 1860s?I dont have a clue where in Scotland she was born.Do you think it best that i get the marriage cert of Ann and William as that should give me her fathers name, therefore her maiden name??Will it also give me the place of her birth Sorry if i sound a bit thick,my brains not working too good today, trying to process lots of info!! Thanks in advance for you help Anna
