Elaine - I can't find any details for you. Looks like the family must have moved before 1851. Tried the VRI for details of Elizabeth and William, but could find any matches, sorry. If you have any more info I will try again Penny

Hi Jeanette They have births, christenings and marriages from England, Scotland Ireland and wales. Some areas are more complete than others so it can be a bit hit-and-miss. I've not found any of my own rellies yet, but I keep looking. Penny

Thanks Penny If you've got the time perhaps you could have a look for one of my elusive rellies. 1881 and 1901 census' have him as Frederick Lock born Ridge, Herts. Hugh Wallis has a William Frederick Nicholl Lock christened 1 April 1838(should I be wary of this date!) Ridge, Hertford mother Hannah Lock father Nicholl. He married a lady called Susan. I don't know her surname but their 1st child was born 1870 so I'm assuming sometime around then. I believe he died sometime between 1901 and 1916. Jeanette

Penelope Report 4 Oct 2003 16:51

Sorry Jeanette, I can find nothing of Frederick. There are records of other Locks in Herts but not him Penny

Thanks for looking Penny. Thought it might be a tricky one! Is there lots of stuff for the other Locks? If there is it might be worth me sending for the disk myself. Jeanette

Penelope

Penelope Report 4 Oct 2003 17:00

Hi Jeanette Not that much that it's worth paying out for the disk. Of course you might have other names you're interested in. If you email me I'll forward all the records I could find - at least I'll try! Haven't done it before! Penny

Can I please ask for a VRI lookup, as you've got the latest edition and mine's only the old version? I'm looking for the marriage of Albert Gurney to Susannah Glasscock and any children from the marriage. Son Richard was born 1842 and Albert died the same year. Can't find anything on 1837 site so think marriage must have been before then. They were living in London in 1842 but could you do an 'all counties' search please (I'm assuming the search on your CDs works the same way as mine?)

Penelope Report 4 Oct 2003 20:19

Hi Helen Susannah Glascock born11 June 1820in Witcham Cambridge. Father Joseph Glascock Mother Sarah Susannah Glasscock born 29 Feb 1812 in Bishop Stortford. Father's name Benjemin Glasscock Mother's name Elizabeth. I'll look for more.....Sorry Helen, nothing in the births for Richard or marriages for Joseph and Susannah - went back to 1830. Penny
