How Do I Find Message Number 290227?

Hi Lesley, You are not too blond the number is definately 290227 at the moment it is 10 messages above yours but after this it will be below, maybe if I nudge Jeanette's you will stay together for a while, you could start another thread on how we all got started trawling the messages instead of doing our family tree I have just spent an hour nosing from message no. 1 now I know how to do it. regards Gen

Thank you everyone ... you learn something new every day! Unfortunately, after all that, looks like I wrote down the wrong number (obviously more tired and blonde than I thought!) So, if anyone happens to know the number of the message posted by Jeanette with the title What Got You Started that would help too!! Many thanks again Lesley PS Has anyone else noticed that not only is Family Research addictive, but so is reading the message boards ... not sure where I'm going to find the time for this new habit I've picked up!

Thank you Lesley for asking that question and thank you George for answering it, I have puzzled over how to find messages and could not even figure out where the number was let alone get back to it. Call me stupid but now all is clear, it has made my day. Little things and all that!! Thank again. Gen

go to your address bar at the top of your computer screen, at the far end you should see a number, delete it and write in the number you have given, then press return. Good Luck George

Yesterday, I spent a long time reading this message board and, on the advice of someone, wrote down all the numbers of the ones I wanted to follow ... What I forgot to do of course was write down how to actually get to those numbers! Please can somebody help a particularly tired blonde ... PLEASE?
