Hi I have the 1876 Post Office Directory for Lincolnshire, which is very similar to the Trade Directory, National Burial Index, Vital Records Index and I'm a member of the Lincolnshire Family History Society. Willing to help with whatever I can. Yvonne

To Jackie Jeffreys Could you be an angel and look in the VRI births and christenings for John Telford born between 1839 and 1842 in Midgeholme, Cumberland. His fathers name was George Telford but I have no other information. I would be very grateful if you could do this as trying to find anything relating to him is driving me crazy Thanks.

Hi George, Good thinking. I'm afraid I don't have a lot as I haven't been doing this long. I do have membership to Irish family research and also signed up to Genforum where I can search message boards for family links. I don't really have anything! BUT!!!!! I am more than willing to have a look at Australian stuff (1800s - abt mid 1900) when I am at the FHC. That is usally at least once a month. The index for the Pioneers (1800's) is REALLY well done and quite easy to get along with for Qld and NSW. I hang onto info that people request and keep looking, even after I may have found nothing, something may turn up in another state or whatever. You never know! :) Sonja

I have Wirral 1851 1871 census on disc, though not including Birkenhead and Tranmere I have 'buried in Cheshire' which sadly did not include any of the people I was after! Also the Bertram Merrel Marriage index for early marriages in Cheshire. Also the national burial index though never actually used! Also building up a collection of MIs of Wirral on fiche - handy to make up the shortfall on the cheshire discs! Get in touch if you need anything!

Hi, It seems like a nice idea but another group I was in ran into trouble doing this. Copyright on many indexes etc is held by individual organisations. Some are commercial organisations but others are not. In particular Family History Societies (which are charities) rely on the money they make from their CDs, indexes etc to pay for the next lot of transcribing and would challenge GC if they put up such a board. If you look at many CDs, fiche etc that you have you will see that you are in breach of copyright if you "publish" the information on lists such as this. Many turn a blind eye to the occasional look up but if it were "organised" would probably draw the line. Gwynne

Have the Devon, Norfolk and Warickshire disk 1851 Somerset census. Member of Devon FHS, Somerset & Dorset FHS, Bristol & Avon FHS and E. Yorkshire FHS. I can get to a LDS centre easily in Plymouth, Devon.

For anyone who lost a rellie in Bomber Command I have a set of Bomber Command Losses 1937-1945 which lists in chronological order all the aircraft lost by enemy action or accident, together with the crew names, squadron, circumstances, mission when lost and fate of the crew (killed, captured, etc.). Date of loss is the essential key. Better to put it on this thread which will bring it to the top and e-mail it as well.

As this hobby is getting more expensive, i thought it might be worthwhile to start a thread stating what you have in your personal collections or have access to through societies. We could then help each other cut the coast of research. For instance:-) I am a member of Lincolnshire FHS and have in my possesion 1841,1851,1871,1881,1891 surname index for Caistor and Louth districts in Lincolnshire. 1881 census on cd, 1851 Norfolk, Devon and Warwickshire, Vital Records, National Index, UK info 2002, Grimsby Marriages 1837 - 1920. Several LFHS quarterly magazines and several family history books. What have the rest of you got and would you be willing to do lookups. Lets keep this thread going so everone can see and add to it.
