I've 'inherited' information on my family tree, without much information or means of how it was collected. It traces back to Thomas Ballinger & Hannah Beard's marriage in Standish, Glos. 1st MAY 1782. I would like to go back further, if so how, and how can I fill in some of the 'blanks' ie siblings etc? |

I would start to look at the PRs, especially for Standish, the marriage entry would say where the partners were from. With any luck their children would have been baptised there or in a neighbouring parish. You will really need to verify your information going backwards from what you know is already correct. Ros |

Hi, Check the information you've been given first working backwards a generation at a time. Parish reecords began in the 16th century so it's possible to get back to the mid 1500s using them Before that there are other options like wills, guild and freeman's records etc. Hope this helps, Gwynne |
