Thank you allso much for your help, Think you could be right Crista looks like a spelling mistake. I Put in Chancer and the area is correct. Thankyou all, and good luck with your searching. Pat

Hi, Pat On multimap, Chaucer Street still exists, off Nicholas Street, north of Lawrence Street. Lawrence Street is the main road to Hull, east of Walmgate Bar. James, aged 47, and Florence aged 44, both appear in the 1901 census in York. I am not sure what you want to know. As they are in the census, the census must presumably give them a street address. I hope this helps, anyway. Best wishes, Stan

Pat, Perhaps Chaucer has been typed in as Chancer. Crista

I have address for James Hopcutt & Florence Hopcutt 20 Chaucer St. York UK. Have tried to find address on 1901 no success. I remember this Street very well from when I lived in York, so it does or did exist. Have tried different spelling, omitting number and St. Not sure if I am missing something, Would appreciate any help. Thanks Pat.
