I want to send away for my gt gt Grandfathers birth certificate, but the only information I have on him is that his name is James Wilkinson born Caistor Lincs in 1856 I dont know what month he was born, I know he married Emma Wackett. Sue............... |

Sue Do you have the marriage certificate? If you do that will give you the name of his father. More to go on and you can use this as a checking point. Have you tried freeBMD or 1837 online? the addresses are in the resource centre on the left of this page. You can search for his birth registration there and send for the cert. Margaret |

Sue FreeBMD has the birth's of James Wilkinson Dec Qtr 1855 Caistor, Lincs ref 7a 530 and James Wilkinson Jun Qtr 1857 Caistor, Lincs ref 7a 560 Margaret |

Hi Sue vital recs index shows two entries for James Wilkinson Bap 21 August 1851 at Caistor Lincs Parents Thomas Wilkinson and Fanny Bap 23 Dec 1855 at Caistor Lincs Parents Thomas Wilkinson and Fanny These could be the same family and the first James has died There are 3 other chidren with Thomas and Fanny as Parents Thomas bap 4th Sep 1859 and Eliza and Harriet both Bap 28th Oct 1866 Hope this might be of use to you Bren |

Hi Sue I live near Caistor, Lincolnshire. I'll have a look on the GRO machine tomorrow at the archives to see if I can find any information. If that helps. If you did want to get a Birth Certificate and you can get a rough idea of some information there is a registry office in Caistor. I'll see if I can find anything useful for you. Thanks for the suggestion of the family tree by the way. I'll let you know as soon as I can get on the internet. Hope it helps. Amie |
