Hi Could anyone planning a trip please lookup in the parish baptism registers for East Norton - any Ridleys (parents Henry & Grace) after 1901. Thank you George

Georgina. . . . Are you sure it's Ridleys ? ( Thats with an... 's ) I could only find the following Ridley within the area of East Norton It's from my Leicestershire census 1891. Thought it might give either Herny or his parents ? They were'nt there in 1891. They only moved to East Norton between 1900-1901. Henry & Grace's roots were in Cumberland and Northumberland. So those Ridleys are not likely to be related to mine. Thanks anyway George

Georgina. . . . But you didn't answer my question is the name RIDLEY'S or RIDLEY ? If I go to the records office on your behalf I don't want to be looking up the wrong Family . I realise the results showed above are from 1891.

Georgina. . . . . I'll see what I can do for you then .... Is there a Particular name your looking for ? and how far forward from the year 1901. to present date, do want me to look ? And what type of Church / Chapel is it ?

They would have been either CofE or Wesleyan Methodists. I'd suggest going from about 1901 - 1910. The parents were Henry and Grace Ridley nee Taylor. Thanks George

Georgina. . . . . I'm sorry but I went to the records office at Wigston this morning. . . Only to find they were closed for stock taking, reopening next week But I've found out. It looks like there is only the one Church / Chapel that being " All Saints " C. of E. within the parish. . . So I'll have another try for you next week. Sorry. . . . MIKE.

Georgina. . . . I'm sorry for the delay to get back to you Now The Record Office at Wigston only has the Parish Records up to 1791. The Church " All Saints" holds those for 1901. to present date So I'm sorry I can't help you this time. If you go to your search engine and type east norton you might find an address for Church Sorry. . . . MIKE.
