Hi Dave, I don't think they're the right ones as my James was married in 1878 and he's not on the 1881 as he'd gone to America by then to look for his brother (or so i'm told by his grandson who's 93!!). I just thought that in 1871 he'd probably still be at home and then i'd know who his parents were. I know his father was James as i have his marriage cert, but to look for his birth cert is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. There are so many James Ashworths all in the same area i'd never get the right one! Thanks for looking anyway. Tracey

Hi Joan, I have looked on lancs BMD. James (jnr) marriage isn't on there as the years haven't been transcribed yet. I don't know about James (snr) because i haven't got a clue what his wife was called! Difficult to get a birth cert because there are so many James Ashworths in the same area.Thanks for your reply.
